Space Opera Operas?

Anybody know of any space opera operas? I know there are a few science fiction operas (Offenbach's "Tales of Hoffman", Janacek's "Vec Makropulos", Machover's "VALIS"), but I don't know of any that could be called space opera.

I know it's a silly question. But I've learned that our world is so crazy that sometimes all you need to do is dream of something awesome and you'll find out it already exists. And I like opera and I like space opera, so... it seems a natural combination.

Alas, I do not know of any (although the heavyworlder opera was one of the few bits in McCaffrey and Moon's Generation Warriors that did NOT make me want to chuck it across the room, which probably means Moon wrote it). It would be awfully cool.

One thing that has become reality in the Space Rock Opera, viz David Bowie's "Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars" or Alphaville's "Afternoons in Utopia" or Jefferson Starship's "Blows Against the Empire." All of which are wicked cool.
